Milo S: The Fire Within
I believe that David Rain is brave because he saved Lucy from a Ix (basically a alien with no physical mass that controls people) when he didn't know if he was going to die. Also he lied to a dragon because of a small request that might bring a small clay dragon back to life and end fatally for him. Additionally David is brave because he fought 4 giant darklings and almost died twice just to protect a dragon who just tried to kill him. If brave means to fight or endure through pain or danger those three reasons would fit the definition perfectly. Fighting things to protect people (like he did in reason 1 and 3) is a show of bravery because he faced the danger and still fought after he got injured. Finally reason 2 is also show of bravery because he is disobeying something that could kill him to do an operation that could kill him just to please 4 people. Since enduring through danger is also a meaning of bravery that also fits. These are the reasons why I believe David Rain is Brave.
Hope A: The Hunger Games
In the hunger games 2 people are chosen from each of the 12 districts to be in the hunger games. in the hunger games 24 people fight until only 1 is left. Katniss's sister is chosen and katniss volunteers to take her place.
Matilda M: Maximum Ride
The school library has this book, as well as Merrill Memorial. There are eight books in the series, starting with "The Angel Experiment". The books are by James Patterson.
Maya H: The Girl I Used to Be
In The Girl I Used To Be there is a character named Duncan, I infer that Olivia and Duncan like each other. When they met each other they were at her dad's funeral (after they found out he didn’t kill the mom) but no one knew it was really her. When they are talking to each other at the funeral they are being really awkward, if they hadn’t liked each other I think that the there conversation would’ve been more casual. When they leave Olivia says to Duncan “Nice talking to you.” He responds “Maybe I’ll stop by next time I'm at Nora’s.” Nora is Olivia’s new neighbor, when they are saying these things to each other they say them really awkwardly. Later in the book something happens and Duncan says that they should pretend to be dating because of something I can’t say. After she agrees to this, she thinks in her head “I want to be more than his pretend girlfriend.” In real life, you wouldn’t want to date someone (for real, not pretend) unless you liked them.
Lexi C: One for the Murphys
Twelve-year-old Carly Connors is very tough and can definitely take a lot. She never thought that her loving mother would betray her. Because of this betrayal, Carly ends up in foster care living with three boys, a mom, and a dad. Carly’s confused on how a family could be so happy and loving so she tries to keep her distance. All of a sudden, Carly finds herself getting closer and closer to the Murphy’s until sudden news from her mother seems to rip and shake her world.
Megan E: Fledgling
My inference is that Felix (Jaevid's best friend) is kind. My evidence is that Felix approached Jaevid when he was sitting alone the first day, then preceded to make friends with him and steal his food. He protected him from the other Fledglings. Being kind is helping and protecting others, and that he certainly shows.
Kadin D: Hunger Games
I think that Katniss is determined. Katniss is determined to keep herself, and later on, her teammate Peeta alive through the Hunger Games. She shows her determination by promising her sister Prim that she would return alive. Katniss promising Prim shows her determination of trying to win. Later, in during the actual Hunger Games, Katniss tries everything in her power to survive against other tributes, strange weather, and deadly creatures. Katniss preserves through most every challenge in the games, therefore, Katniss wants to win, and is determined to do so. When Katniss forms an allegiance with Peeta, she protects him from harm, and tries to keep him alive. A big moment where she does that, is when they find out there is medicine in the arena. Peeta badly needs that medicine, but he is not strong enough to fight for it. So Katniss takes a huge risk, and goes to get the medicine herself in order to keep Peeta alive. Because Katniss went through all the fear and danger to keep Peeta living means she is determined. Another way Katniss shows her determination to survive is when she makes good choices for herself and Peeta. A good choice she made was when she decided to disinfect a severe wound Peeta got. Even though disinfecting it put Peeta through a lot of pain, he would have died from an infection. Katniss also makes the choice of not hunting down other tributes, but letting Peeta rest (he needs rest because of his wound.) Katniss made a smart choice to let Peeta recover, and that shows she is not giving in/giving up. Not giving up shows determination to win the games… in other words, her and Peeta's lives.

Chloe B: George
My inference: I think that Kelly is happy that George stuck with becoming a girl and then he became one. At the end of the book Kelly invites George (a.k.a. Melissa) to go to the zoo with her dressed as a girl and as a girl. Kelly is glad that George is now truly a girl. And he is happy.
Sam L: The Outcasts
This Book the Outcast’s is about Skandian Boy’s when they turn 16. They get split up into different brother bands, and compete in challenges. Unfortionalty, 8 boys are not picked for any brother band, so they have to form thier own band. The other 2 groups the Sharks, and the Wolves are formed with the most athletic and popular kids. While the Herons are formed from the outcast, the kids that nobody wanted.
