I am happy because of the planet’s funniest kid comic contest.  I know this because I love being famous, and because of the contest I get to be on tv.  Also I really like to have fun and because of the contest I get to go to las angeles and las angeles is a lot of fun as you can imagine.  All of these things have to do with my inference because all of them have to with the contest and all of them make me happy!

Hi, my name is raymond and i am from Canada. Are you wondering why there is lightning? That is because ... well long story, there was a plane engine that stalled and one was killed. We were left with a village elder and two boys. Including me. We have to survive now, we were off track when we stalled so the search planes won't find us in a while. It is so cold here! Time for my inference! Hmmmm... I have noticed that Gabe. the other kid. Is trying to be optimistic because he has said when we just found a couple bullets which could rarely save our lives he said "The elder could shoot a moose any time!” and another time “Yeah, they'd see the plane turn then they would be searching over here! We’ll be out in no time!” even though that is so rare. Optimistic people would say that just to feel good even though it is rare or they don’t know that for sure. That is why I think Gabe is being optimistic. Well anyway gotta go. I think the village elder may have finished the snow shoes!

Summer D. The War that Saved my Life

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Being brave means to protect someone or to do something that everyone else is scared of doing. Katniss is very brave because she has saved many of the lives of others and herself, for example Katniss saved her sister by substituting to go into the hunger games, She was the first one to substitute in many, many, years. Another way Katniss was brave was when she saved Peeta’s life when they were getting attacked by wolves that the gamemakers had sent after them and Katniss risked her life by being in the middle of the wolves to save Peeta from not being killed. The last reason Katniss is brave and she has saved yet another persons life was when Peeta was being hunted by the other kids in the arena and he was about to die when Katniss found him, she got him and nurtured him back to full health and mended his leg.

Katniss and Melody (From Out Of My Mind) are both very scared at times but they usually bounce back. For example: Melody was scared when her sister Penny got run over by a car but she bounced back when she new that Penny only had a few injuries she bounced right back. Same for Katniss, Katniss was scared and sad that Rue died but she knew she needed to win for Rue and she bounced right back.

Melody and Katniss are also very similar because Melody is also very brave, for example: Melody is special but she is still fighting to get on the quiz team and do what other normal kids are doing, she is very smart and she is making many friends. That’s why Melody is brave like Katniss.

The Summer I Turned Pretty: Nell S.

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything amazing happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the months and weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, away from Jeremiah and most importantly, away from Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer -- they have been her cousin figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But on one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

This book is a amazing and Beautifully written. In so many parts, I felt like couldn't put the book down. It grabs you and keeps you in it.  There are two other books, but it doesn't matter what order you read them. The other book names are It’s not summer without you, and, We'll always have summer.

Unbroken: Quin O.

Unbroken by Laura Hildebrand

Louie Zamperini was born in 1917 and lived until 2014. In “Unbroken” it tells the story of his incredible life. When Louie was younger he was a big troublemaker. In high school he started getting into running and racing and was pretty much winning everything. He went to USC to run. He also went to the Olympics and did really well. The Iron Trial: Manus D.

The Iron Trial by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

Hi my name is call. My dad said, that if I got picked at the iron trial that I would be doomed.. so I tried my hardest to fail. and so I ended up covered in ink, and burnt rubber. after all that , I got picked with two others. but of course I got picked by master rufus the magician that trained my dad  and my mom. Later I was pretty much an outcast but then I learned that the school wasn't so bad. Mostly because that I did a lot of snooping and found a letter from my telling master rufus to bind my magic. And that made me mad but I got over it and  I learned to love the school,  and there was havoc which made school better. that is why i learned to love that school

The Bat Boy: Isaac G.

The Bat Boy by Mike Lupica

Brian is a very devoted person. He is devoted because even though his baseball hero took drugs, Brian believed in him through it all. He was able to see the good in him through all the bad. Brian is devoted because page 25 states that, “ Brian had never wanted to forgive him on either count-” him being Hank - “because he loved baseball too much not to see what guys using those drugs had done to the records and the record books in his lifetime. But he couldn’t help it: He never stopped rooting for Hank Bishop, even when he was off playing with other teams.” This shows that Brian is devoted because to be devoted you have to be loyal and faithful, which he shows by not giving up on Hank Bishop. Being devoted is also about giving a large part of one's time into a person which Brian sure does with his, “... Box labeled Hank Bishop.” In conclusion Brian is very devoted as a person.

Michael Vey: Matthew R.

Michael Vey by Richard Paul Evans
Dr. James Hatch has taken over the company and that’s bad news. The electric teens are trying to take him down. But since he created the electric children some of them are on his side. So they are evenly matched. Michael Vey is a smart combat fighter, him being the leader of the electroclan, he has to think of plans to take down the elgen and sink the Ampere. His plans work almost every time so that makes him a smart combat fighter. This book is very action packed, it’s science fiction. I would rate it a 9.99/10.

Lockdown: Mark M.

Lockdown by Alexander Gordon Smith
This book is about a kid in his teens named Alex Sawyer who starts as a kid making money by breaking into and stealing from houses. But one day he is stealing from a house with his friend Toby, and these men come in and they are all wearing Black Suits. They take Toby and shoot him and frame Alex for it. He gets sent to a place called Furnace Penitentiary. The guards of furnace are the guys wearing the suits. Furnace has never been escaped before. Furnace is one mile underground and no way up but an elevator that has a gu that detects hostility and movement. The guards all have shotguns, and are inhumanly strong. On some nights this thing called a blood watch happens. These things called wheezers come out and they have gas masks on. If you are out of bed or awake you have a chance of your cell being marked. If your cell gets marked then a Blacksuit comes and grabs either you or your cellmate. On a blood watch about 5-6 wheezers come out, and when the Blacksuit pulls you out of your cell a wheezer will insert a syringe into you. The syringe makes you faint. Every morning there are jobs to be done, one is chipping. This is where you have to chip out rooms for the day. There are rooms 1-3. Number 2 is blocked off because of a cave in, but whenever Alex goes near there he senses something.

Among the Hidden: Poppy E.

Among the Hidden by: Margaret Petterson Haddix

Jen Talbot is a shadow child. In this book adults are not allowed to have more than two children, and if they do the population police come and take them away from the parents. As I was saying Jen is a shadow child and she has just moved into a new house with her mother father and her two brothers, she found out that she is living next to  another shadow child named Luke Garner. They slowly become friends and luke begins coming over whenever he can, Jen shows Luke this social wall she has on her computer with the many other shadow children, and just doing that could get her killed, but she does it anyway. That shows me that Jen Talbot is a very brave child.

Lost in the Sun: Maya P.

Lost in the Sun by Lisa Graff
In Lost in the Sun the main character, Trent keeps to himself and does not interact with almost anyone except his mom and two brothers. Recently Trent’s dad got remarried and is expecting a new daughter which he is very excited about. One the other hand Trent is having mixed feelings about the new baby, but only one feeling about his dad. Trent thinks that his dad hates him. While this is all going on, about half a year ago Trent was playing ice hockey with a couple of his friends. When he went to to score on Jared, he hit him right in the chest. Something that no one knew was that Jared had a heart defect. Soon after Trent hit Jared, Jared died. Trent has been feeling that all this was his fault, and that he killed Jared. Before long a girl named Fallon comes along. Fallon is not very popular. She is not very popular because of a scare that runs across her face and that the people in  her school judge people by something a person did or by how they look. That is how Trent and Fallon become lifelong friends.

The Red Pyramid: Ty L.

The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
Throughout the book I found that Sadie and Carter are naturally a good team. First, they’ve been separated for most of their lives and when they got together, in a few short days, they worked together to try and save the world with magic they hadn’t known about their whole life. Now, for most people it would take them days to just build the bond between each other and weeks more to learn the magic, but they didn’t need all that time which means they are a good team because when you can build a bond and work together in no time, that’s the definition of a good team, which is what they did, making them a good team. Also, they escaped the wrath of many foul magicians with their quick, collaborative thinking. Carter and Sadie were just meant to work together, and if you just know how to work with each other under harsh circumstances, that means you’re a good team, as shown by Sadie and Carter.
I found it impossible to deny that Sadie and Carter couldn’t be more different. First and foremost, they grew up in different countries, different continents even, and were never exposed to the same things. That in itself will shape a person when they grow up and that is exactly what happened, making their customs, activities and speech patterns different. Secondly, Carter and Sadie have different personalities. Carter is a know it all student who plays by the rules who isn’t used to getting comfortable since he and his dad traveled all over the world together. Sadie, on the other hand is the tough kid on the block with marginal grades and the tendency to be reckless. These different ways of going through your day is what makes Sadie and Carter so diverse, so that is why Carter and Sadie are different.

Pegasus: Camden H

Pegasus by Kate O'Hearn
Inference: Lauren is very hesitant to listen to Saturn.

Evidence #1: Lauren was not instantly killing people when Saturn told her to and she thought some of the olympians were innocent even though Saturn was demanding her to kill them.

Explanation #1: She did not want to listen to saturn which shows that she was hesitant.

Evidence #2: Lauren left Tartarus without telling Saturn, so she must have not wanted him to find out because she thought he would punish her.

Explanation #2: She thought she was going to be punished and she was scared of killing more people even though she did not need to. That proves that she does not want to stick with Saturn.

Evidence #3: When the Titans and the Olympians took their battle to Earth, Lauren joined Emily to help stop the battle and after that she went to Olympus with Emily instead of going back to Titus to live with Saturn.

Explanation #3: If you do not like somebody or do not want to be with them you will not follow them or join them in battle.

Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie: Ella M.

Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick

Steven is a boy of 13. He lives a normal life, he likes the drums, he has a crush on a cute girl and he has an annoying little brother of 5, named Jeffrey. Steven finds himself with little problems that seem huge until little Jeffrey comes down with Leukemia. Steven learns what it means to really suffer and he finds something with his brother that he didn’t pay attention to before. There are shocking surprises and easy to guess twists and turns. There are very few cliff hangers if there are any at all. (But still hooking endings to the chapter.) This book is about bravery, change, and willing. It is equal gender and shows what it’s like to love, and to lose. If you enjoy realistic fiction, slight sadness, and happiness then this is the book for you.

I Even Funnier: Adam H.

I Even Funnier by James Patterson

Inference: I think jammie likes cool girl again.

Evidence: in the book when ever he sees her his cheeks turn red and he can't talk but he says he doesn’t like her.
because in the 1st book he used to date her and he never really knew until the second year of middle school in one of the pages he is talking to cool girl and says that he is having a heart attack because he did not know what to say.

Explanation: Why does it prove you like someone if your cheeks turn red and you have trouble talking around them? Because you feel these emotions and it's hard to talk when you feel them Embarrassed, Happy, Scared, Sick.
