Evidence: in the book when ever he sees her his cheeks turn red and he can't talk but he says he doesn’t like her.
because in the 1st book he used to date her and he never really knew until the second year of middle school in one of the pages he is talking to cool girl and says that he is having a heart attack because he did not know what to say.
Explanation: Why does it prove you like someone if your cheeks turn red and you have trouble talking around them? Because you feel these emotions and it's hard to talk when you feel them Embarrassed, Happy, Scared, Sick.
