Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie: Ella M.

Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick

Steven is a boy of 13. He lives a normal life, he likes the drums, he has a crush on a cute girl and he has an annoying little brother of 5, named Jeffrey. Steven finds himself with little problems that seem huge until little Jeffrey comes down with Leukemia. Steven learns what it means to really suffer and he finds something with his brother that he didn’t pay attention to before. There are shocking surprises and easy to guess twists and turns. There are very few cliff hangers if there are any at all. (But still hooking endings to the chapter.) This book is about bravery, change, and willing. It is equal gender and shows what it’s like to love, and to lose. If you enjoy realistic fiction, slight sadness, and happiness then this is the book for you.
