Jen Talbot is a shadow child. In this book adults are not allowed to have more than two children, and if they do the population police come and take them away from the parents. As I was saying Jen is a shadow child and she has just moved into a new house with her mother father and her two brothers, she found out that she is living next to another shadow child named Luke Garner. They slowly become friends and luke begins coming over whenever he can, Jen shows Luke this social wall she has on her computer with the many other shadow children, and just doing that could get her killed, but she does it anyway. That shows me that Jen Talbot is a very brave child.
